Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

Verify that the Heated Seat Switch High Indicator Malfunction is present.

Does the heated seat switch high temperature indicator operate as described in the system description and operation?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

Is the heated seat switch HIGH temperature indicator always on?

Go to Step 8

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the heated seat switch connector.
  3. Connect a 3-amp fused jumper wire from the ground terminal of the heated seat switch to ground.
  4. Probe the high temperature indicator terminal of the heated seat switch with a test lamp that is connected to battery positive voltage.

Does the heated seat switch HIGH temperature indicator illuminate?

Test the heated seat high temperature indicator control circuit between the heated seat switch and the door control module for a short to ground, a high resistance, or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the heated seat control module status signal circuit between the rear integration module (RIM) and the heated seat module for a short to ground, a high resistance, or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the heated seat control module status signal circuit between the RIM and the heated seat module for a short to battery voltage. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the heated seat high temperature indicator control circuit between the heated seat switch and the door control module for a short to battery positive voltage. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the door control module. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.
