Tick Noise from Tires - keywords noise rubber speed

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Some 2006 Buick Lucerne and Cadillac DTS, equipped with 17" Continental tires, may experience a tick noise coming from the tires while driving. The noise may be caused by excessive rubber flashing in the wear bar area of the tires.

Using needle nose pliers, clamp the flash in the center, down to base of the groove and pull - the flash will tear out, fairly easily.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
