The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
The compass located in the Driver Information Center (DIC) may be difficult to calibrate.
When performing the compass calibration procedure, it is important that the vehicle speed does not exceed 5 MPH.
It is also important to note that the 2006 Lucerne is available with a compass built into the Rear View Mirror or in the DIC. The compass calibration procedure for both systems can be found in the Owners Manual.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
