The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Certain 3.8 V-6 Lucernes may have a concern of rough idle, hard start, extended crank, misfires or any other concern that may lead to a throttle body replacement then follow the instructions below.

A number of V-6 throttle bodies have been returned to Warranty Parts Center with no problem found. Engineering would like to talk to some dealer that have a vehicle that exhibits one of these concerns and are willing to work with Engineering, please contact Ray Mueller at 248-685-4254. Advise Ray this involves a possible throttle body replacement on a 3.8 V-6 Lucerne. Once the message is left, a return call will be received within 2 business hours. If a return call is not received within this time, then continue with the normal repair procedures to repair the vehicle as necessary. Ray's normal business hours are from 8:00 to 3:00 Eastern time.
