Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1687231 Size: SH
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the oil pan drain plug and allow the oil to drain.

    3. Object Number: 1686735 Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the engine harness electrical connector (2) from the oil level sensor.

    4. Object Number: 1686737 Size: SH
  4. Remove the oil level sensor.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1686737 Size: SH
  1. Install the oil level sensor.

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the sensor to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).


    Object Number: 1686735 Size: SH
  2. Connect the engine harness electrical connector (2) to the oil level sensor.

    3. Object Number: 1687231 Size: SH
  3. Install the oil pan drain plug.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the plug to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  4. Lower the vehicle.
  5. Fill the crankcase with engine oil. Refer to Approximate Fluid Capacities .
