The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Recent calls to Technical Assistance on Cadillac DTS and Buick Lucerne with RPO MH1, 4T80E transmissions has indicated a concern of no movement forward or reverse. Some of the calls have been that the vehicle cannot be moved off of the transport. It has been found that once the vehicle is moved into the shop and allowed to reach temperatures above 32 degrees Fahrenheit that the vehicle then will operate properly.
Recommendation/Instructions:
No repairs should be performed at this time. If encountering this condition, please contact Technical Assistance and set up a case. Start the vehicle and allow it to idle for 5-7 minutes. Using a clean syringe or other sampling device per car, obtain a 6 ounce transmission fluid sample and FedEx the sample with copy of the repair order to:

You will be contacted with shipment reimbursement instructions and any repair instructions.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
