Subject: | SES Light and DTC P1400 |
Models: | 2007 Buick Lucerne |
Equipped with 3800 L26 Engine (VIN Code 2) |
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Important: The described condition does not apply to the 2006 model year.
Some owners may comment that the Service Engine Soon (SES) light came on. Upon closer inspection using a Tech 2, DTC P1400 may have been found stored in the PCM.
The current PCM calibration allows up to 2% accelerator pedal movement by a driver during a cold start maneuver while at idle. This very slight 2% pedal movement may be enough to trigger the diagnostic for the P1400 and cause the code to set.
A new PCM calibration is being developed and it will be broadcast to dealers in the near future. As soon as an availability date is known, this document will be updated or revised.
In the meantime do not attempt to repair this condition by replacing the throttle body, PCM, accelerator pedal assembly or any other parts / components.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
