The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
On rare occasions a customer may comment the engine will stall or not crank over and start intermittently. The SERVICE AIR BAG will display in the Driver Information Center and the Air Bag indicator is on steady. The HVAC display will be inoperative and one or more of the following DTCs may be stored:
• | B1019 3A: Incorrect Component Installed |
• | B1370 06: Device Ignition 1 Circuit Short to Ground or Open |
• | B0413 06: Temperature Control 1 Feedback Circuit Short to Ground or Open |

Peel the tape off the engine harness breakout for G112 (5) and inspect where the wires are welded and crimped in the ground ring terminal. One or more of the wires (circuit 1551) may not be welded in the bundle to the terminal. If this condition exists the RUN/CRANK Relay located in the Under hood Fuse Block could de-energize unexpectantly or not energize at all. Repair the connection as necessary to provide proper grounding to all wires.
Notice: Early built 2006 vehicles utilized a splice pack in place of the eyelet shown in the picture below.
Important: If the Transmission Shift cable is in contact with the harness bundle near the ground, the connection to worsen or improve when the shifter is moved.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
