The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Some customers may comment STABILITRAK NOT READY is displayed on the Driver Information Center (DIC)
Recommendation/Instructions:
Notice: Perform the diagnostic system check. If DTC are stored follow the appropriate diagnostic procedures. If no DTC are stored continue with the procedure below.
- Read the Brake Pressure Sensor Input with the Tech2 found in the VSES Data Display while the brake pedal is NOT applied.
• | If the Brake Pressure Sensor Input reading is less than 0.7V question the customer closely regarding circumstance in which the message turns on. Some driving scenarios can cause the STABILITRAK NOT READY message (i.e. driving in reverse for extended
periods immediately following startup). |
• | If the Brake Pressure Sensor Input reading is 0.7V or higher, proceed to step 2. |
- Replace the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) using the proper repair and programming setup instructions. Proceed to step 3.
- Read the Brake Pressure Sensor Input with the Tech2 found in the VSES Data Display while brake pedal is NOT applied.
• | If voltage reads less than 0.7V the concern is resolved |
• | If voltage still reads 0.7V or higher, proceed to step 4. |
- Replace the Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (BPMV) using the proper repair instructions. Proceed to step 5.
- Read the Brake Pressure Sensor Input with the Tech2 found in the VSES Data Display while brake pedal is NOT applied.
• | If voltage reads less than 0.7V the concern is resolved. |
• | If voltage still reads 0.7V or higher, contact Technical Assistance (TAC) |
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
