Models: | 2006- 2009 Buick Lucerne |
2006- 2009 Cadillac DTS |
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
A customer may comment that either the driver or passenger outside rearview mirror (OSRVM) does not return to the original position following a park tilt movement. The cause may be the male electrical connector (1) for the mirror actuator is not orientated correctly. The connector is not keyed and can be inserted 180° degrees off from the intended position. This may have happened during mirror assembly or during previous service event.
Remove the mirror glass and inspect the actuator connector. When the connector is orientated correctly, the light blue wire (2) will be in the upper most corner pin location in the row of pins that is facing the rear of the vehicle. If reversed, remove the actuator. Reoriented the connector and test the park tilt operation. The memory positions may need to be reset after this repair.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
