The rear window switches continuously monitor the up/down signal voltage sent by the body control module (BCM) and compares the signal voltage to the B+ voltage. If no command is being sent, the signal is at or near B+ voltage, when the up or down function has been commanded the signal voltage drops by approximately 0.5 volts and the appropriate rear window switch will command the up or down function.
Battery voltage is between 9-16 volts.
The BCM detects a fault in the left rear window up circuit.
The BCM detects a fault in the left rear window down circuit.
The BCM detects a fault in the right rear window up circuit.
The BCM detects a fault in the right rear window down circuit.
The left or right rear power window will be inoperative from the driver master control.
• | The DTC will be current for as long as the fault is present. |
• | When the fault is no longer present, the DTC will be a history DTC. |
• | A history DTC will clear after 50 ignition cycles. |

Power Windows Description and Operation
Command the appropriate rear door window UP and DOWN with a scan tool. The rear door window should perform the UP and DOWN function.

⇒ | If the LR or RR window sets B3820 00 or B3823 00 during the DOWN command, refer to B3820 00 or B3823 00. |
⇒ | If less than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to ground or open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM. |
⇒ | If less than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to ground or open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM. |
