The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Some customers may comment they can hear a tapping, rattle, or spark knock type of noise from the underhood area. The cause may be the transmission shift cable making contact with the intake manifold cover due to the cable clip opening (1).

Remove the clip (1) and replace it using a tie strap to secure the cable into position.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
