Preliminary Procedures

  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
  2. Note: Seal the A/C system ports after the hose is removed in order to keep A/C system from being contaminated.

  3. Remove the injector sight shield.. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield ReplacementA
  4. Remove the upper tie bar. Refer to Front End Upper Tie Bar Replacement

A/C Evaporator Hose Retaining Nut

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

Sealing Washer

Procedure

Remove and discard the sealing washer. Refer to Sealing Washer Replacement

A/C Evaporator Hose Retaining Bolt

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

A/C Evaporator Hose Retaining Nut

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

Sealing Washer

Procedure

Remove and discard the sealing washer. Refer to Sealing Washer Replacement

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

Leak test the fittings using J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector
