Preliminary Procedures

1. Remove the knee bolster panel. Refer to Driver Knee Bolster Replacement.
2. Disconnect the brake pedal position sensor electrical connector.

Accelerator Position Sensor Nut (Qty: 2)

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Tighten
10 N·m (89 lb in)

Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor

Tip
Relocate accelerator pedal position sensor aside.

Brake Booster Pushrod Retaining Clip and Bolt

Procedure

1. Rotate the brake booster pushrod retaining clip to ensure it is fully seated in the brake pedal pivot pin.
2. Hold the brake booster pushrod retaining clip stationary while tightening the retaining clip bolt.

Tighten
7 N·m (62 lb in)

Power Vacuum Brake Booster Nut (Qty: 4)

Procedure

Lower the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Replacement.

Tighten
30 N·m (22 lb ft)

Brake Pedal Assembly

Procedure

After the installation is complete, calibrate the brake pedal position sensor. Refer to Brake Pedal Position Sensor Calibration.
