Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1608498 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the knock sensor electrical connector (2).

    2. Object Number: 1587771 Size: SH
  2. Loosen and remove the knock sensor (2).

Installation Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1587771 Size: SH

    Note:  DO NOT apply thread sealant to the sensor threads. The sensor threads are coated at the factory. Applying additional sealant affects the sensors ability to detect detonation.

  1. Install and tighten the knock sensor (2) to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

    2. Object Number: 1608498 Size: SH
  2. Connect the knock sensor electrical connector (2).
