Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1662130 Size: SH
  1. Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement.
  2. Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) pipe (2) quick connect fitting from the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.

    3. Object Number: 1662118 Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the engine harness electrical connector (1) from EVAP canister purge solenoid valve.

    4. Object Number: 1564197 Size: SH
  4. Remove the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve bolt.
  5. Remove the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1564197 Size: SH

    Note: Be sure to install a NEW O-ring on the EVAP purge solenoid valve.

  1. Install the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve.

    2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  2. Install the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve bolt.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb ft).

  3. Connect the engine harness electrical connector (1) to EVAP canister purge solenoid valve.

    4. Object Number: 1662130 Size: SH
  4. Connect the EVAP pipe (2) quick connect fitting to the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.
  5. Install the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement.
