Subject:Rear HVAC Outlets Are Too Warm Or Cool

Models:2006- 2009 Buick Lucerne w/ RPO C67


The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

A customer may comment the rear seat HVAC outlets air temperatures are warmer or cooler that than the front outlets. The cause may be that the mix valve link pivot (1) has become disengaged from the channel (2).

Recommendation/Instructions:
  1. Remove right side instrument panel insulator panel.
  2. Inspect the mix valve link for having become disengaged.
  3. Re-engage the mix valve link by gently pulling out on the pivot (1) and inserting it into the channel (2) as shown.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
