--------- Owners of some 1992-93 Buick Park Avenue/Ultra and LeSabre models with the UX1 (cassette with graphic equalizer), UTO (Bose Cassette), or U1A (CD with graphic equalizer), may experience reduced FM radio reception especially in the lower half of the FM band. Buzzing tones and noises may be heard when tuning in the 87 to 95 MHZ range.
---------- The E and C data wire(s) (circuit 835) going into the auxiliary 7-Pin Connector (C4) on the back of the radio must be modified.
There may be only one wire going into either Pin 6 or 7, or there may be two wires with one on Pin 6 and the other on Pin 7.
Cut the wire (circuit 835, see illustration) at the back of the harness connector, tape over the end of the wire, and tape the wire back into the I/P away from the radio.
Cut the wires (circuit 835, see illustration) at the back of the harness connector, electrically splice the two wires together, then tape the wire back into the VP away from the radio.
After modifying circuit 835, the FM reception should be returned to normal.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
