Some customers may comment on a popping type noise heard in the passenger compartment. This occurs after driving at highway speeds and coming to a stop.
The source of this noise may be the catalytic converter heat shield. When air flow stops, the heat from the converter may cause the shield to expand.
Remove (drill out) the rivet from the catalytic converter heat shield. Use the following procedure and part numbers listed below.
Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 24 mm (18 lb ft).
