Transmission Mount Replacement Left Mount

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle. Support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Jacking and Lifting and General Information.
  2. Support the transmission with a jackstand.
  3. Remove the front splash shield.

  4. Object Number: 97309  Size: SH
  5. Remove the transmission cooler line bracket bolts.

  6. Object Number: 97311  Size: SH
  7. Remove the transmission cooler line bracket.

  8. Object Number: 97483  Size: SH
  9. Remove the transmission mount.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 97483  Size: SH
  1. Install the mount into position.

  2. Object Number: 97311  Size: SH
  3. Install the transmission cooler line bracket.

  4. Object Number: 97309  Size: SH
  5. Install the transmission cooler line bracket bolts.
  6. Tighten

    1. Tighten the mount to transmission bolts to 63 N·m (46 lb ft).
    2. Tighten the frame to mount nuts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Remove the jackstand.
  8. Install the front splash shield.
  9. Lower the vehicle.

Transmission Mount Replacement Right Mount

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle. Support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting and Jacking in General Information.
  2. Support the transmission with a jackstand.
  3. Remove the bolts attaching the steering gear assembly to the frame. Refer to Steering Gear in Suspension

  4. Object Number: 97486  Size: SH
  5. Remove the nuts from the frame to mount.

  6. Object Number: 97489  Size: SH
  7. Remove the bolts from the mount to transmission.

  8. Object Number: 97490  Size: SH
  9. Remove the mount. Use a long screwdriver or prybar. Pry up on the steering gear assembly while working the mount out from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 97490  Size: SH
  1. Install the mount into position.

  2. Object Number: 97489  Size: SH
  3. Install the bolts at the mount to transmission.

  4. Object Number: 97486  Size: SH
  5. Install the nuts at the frame to mount.
  6. Tighten

    1. Tighten the mount to transmission bolts to 52 N·m (38 lb ft).
    2. Tighten the frame to mount nuts to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).
    3. Tighten the frame to body bolts to 112 N·m (83 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application.   7. Remove the jackstand.
  8. Install the five bolts attaching the steering gear assembly to the frame. Refer to Steering Gear in Suspension.
  9. Lower the vehicle.

Transmission Mount Replacement Torque Strut

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle. Support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting and Jacking in General Information.
  2. Support the transmission with a jackstand.

  3. Object Number: 97304  Size: SH
  4. Remove the bolt attaching the torque strut to the torque strut bracket.

  5. Object Number: 97632  Size: SH
  6. Remove the bolts attaching the torque strut to the transmission.

  7. Object Number: 97636  Size: SH
  8. Remove the torque strut.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 97636  Size: SH
  1. Install the torque strut into the bracket.

  2. Object Number: 97632  Size: SH
  3. Install the bolts attaching the torque strut to the transmission.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 55 N·m (41 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application.   5. Install the bolt attaching the torque strut to the torque strut bracket.
  6. Remove the jackstand.
  7. Lower the vehicle.

Transmission Mount Replacement Transaxle Brace

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle. Support the vehicle. Refer to General Information.

  2. Object Number: 97306  Size: SH
  3. Remove the transmission brace bolts.

  4. Object Number: 97307  Size: SH
  5. Remove the transmission brace.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 97307  Size: SH
  1. Install the transmission brace.

  2. Object Number: 97306  Size: SH
  3. Install the transmission brace bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 60 N·m (44 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application.
