Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 166534 Size: SH
  1. Install the resonator with the guillotine clamps. Position the clamps so the nuts are towards the drivers side of the vehicle.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Align the exhaust system for proper clearance and then tighten the clamps.
  4. Tighten
Tighten the clamp nuts to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).

  5. Install the muffler and hangers.
  6. Install the pipe to the muffler using a U-bolt type clamp. Position the clamp on drivers side muffler so the nuts are towards the drivers side of the vehicle. Position the clamp on the passengers side muffler so the nuts are toward the passenger side of the vehicle.
  7. Align the muffler and the intermediate pipe and resonator assembly to proper clearance.
  8. Tighten
Tighten the clamp nuts to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).
