Rear Compartment Lid Release

The rear compartment lid release system includes the following main components:

    • The rear compartment lid latch assembly
        This assembly includes an electrically-controlled release actuator and a release cable.
    • The rear compartment lid latch striker
    • An IP-mounted rear compartment lid release button with a mechanical lockout feature
    • The keyless entry transmitter

Pressing the rear compartment lid release button opens the rear compartment, provided that the following conditions are both true:

    • The gear shift lever is in PARK or NEUTRAL.
    • The rear compartment lid release lockout is in the UNLOCKED position.

Pressing rear compartment lid release button on the keyless entry transmitter opens the rear compartment provided that one of the following conditions is true:

    • The ignition switch is OFF.
    • The ignition switch is in RUN and the gear shift lever is set to PARK.

The mechanical lockout disables the IP-mounted rear compartment lid release button . Lid release operation using the keyless entry transmitter is not affected. In order to use the lockout feature, insert the ignition key into the IP-mounted rear compartment lid release button. Turn the key 1/4 turn, then remove the key.

Fuel Door Release

The fuel door release system consists of the following main components.

    • The fuel door release actuator
    • The IP-mounted fuel door release switch

Pressing the fuel door release switch releases the fuel door. The fuel door may also be opened using the manual fuel door release. The manual fuel door release is in the top of the rear compartment, on the left side.
