THIS IS A MONTHLY SERVICE NEWSLETTER ARTICLE. THIS IS NOT INTENDED TO BE A PUBLISHED BULLETIN.
THE FRONT DOOR LOCKS DO NOT FUNCTION WHEN THE SWITCH IS DEPRESSED.
SOME VEHICLES WERE PRODUCED WHERE THE FRONT DOOR ARM REST MOUNTING BRACKET SCREW COULD PIERCE THE WIRING HARNESS, RESULTING IN AN ELECTRICAL SHORT AND BLOWN FUSE.
THE INTERFERENCE WOULD OCCUR AT THE MIDDLE ARM REST MOUNTING BRACKET FASTENER WHICH IS LOCATED BETWEEN THE WIRING HARNESS ROSE BUD CLIPS.
THE BRACKET ASSEMBLY OPERATION IS BLIND, RELATIVE TO THE HARNESS, BECAUSE THE SCREWS ARE DRIVEN AFTER THE WATER DEFLECTOR IS INSTALLED. IF THE WIRING HARNESS IS "LOOPED" UPWARD, THE SCREW COULD PENETRATE THE WIRING. THIS COULD CAUSE A SHORT, RESULTING IN LOST DOOR LOCK FUNCTIONS.
WHEN DOOR LOCKS ARE INOPERABLE DUE TO A BLOWN FUSE, LOOK FOR THIS SHORT BEFORE REPLACING ANY PARTS.
REPAIR THE BROKEN OR PERFORATED WIRES, AND THEN REROUTE THE HARNESS AWAY FROM THE BRACKET SCREW. REPLACE THE FUSE.
FOR VEHICLES REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY, USE: LABOR OPERATION NUMBER: N6225 USE CURRENTLY PUBLISHED LABOR TIME.
