Subject: | HVAC Control Assembly Displays Inaccurate Temperature Setting and/or Emits Tick Noise (Replace HVAC Programmer Assembly) |
Models: | 1997-99 Buick Park Avenue, Ultra |
This bulletin contains information on two conditions:
Some customers may comment that the automatic temperature control system during vehicle warm-up may "over shoot" the requested "Set Temperature" or, under certain conditions, may allow the temperature to fall below the requested "Set Temperature".
This condition may be caused by the programmer's inability to properly regulate the temperature of the passenger compartment.
Some customers may comment that the HVAC Module Assembly emits a repeating "tick-tock" or "clock" like sound.
This condition may be caused by the programmer and the actuator motor not being synchronized with each other.
Replace the HVAC Programmer Assembly, P/N 9353514. Refer to the HVAC Programmer replacement procedure in the HVAC-Air Conditioning sub-section of the Service Manual.
