Did you perform the Cellular Telephone System Check ?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
  2. Disconnect the cellular telephone handset connector.
  3. Disconnect the radio connector.
  4. Using a J 39200 digital multimeter (DMM) set to the ohms scale, check for continuity between the following terminals:
  5. • Cellular telephone handset jumper connector terminal C.
    • Radio connector terminal E9.

Is the circuit continuity OK?

Repair the open in CKT 372 (BLK/WHT)

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Step 13

Using a DMM set to the ohms scale, check for continuity between the following terminals:

    • Cellular telephone handset jumper connector terminal G.
    • Radio connector terminal E10.

Is the circuit continuity OK?

--

Go to Step 6

Repair the open in CKT 367 (BRN/WHT)

Is the repair complete?

Using a DMM set to the ohms scale, check for continuity between the following terminals:

    • Cellular telephone handset jumper connector terminal A.
    • Radio connector terminal E11.

Is the circuit continuity OK?

Repair the open in CKT 368 (DK GRN/WHT)

Check the cellular telephone handset-to-harness connector jumper wiring for continuity.

Is the wiring OK?

Replace the cellular telephone handset-to-harness connector jumper.

Is the repair complete?

Test the cellular telephone operation using a known good cellular telephone handset.

Is the sound restored?

Replace the cellular telephone handset. Refer to Cellular Telephone Replacement .

  1. Inspect the cellular telephone module connector for poor terminal contact.
  2. If OK, replace the cellular telephone module. Refer to Radio Frequency Booster and Bracket Assembly Replacement .

  1. Make sure any components removed during diagnosis are installed in place and that all connectors are connected.
  2. Repeat the system check. Refer to Cellular Telephone System Check .
