Inspect the CD/PH fuse in the rear fuse block.

Is the fuse open?

  1. Repair the short to ground in CKT 2240 (ORN).
  2. Replace the CD/PH fuse in the rear fuse block.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
  2. Disconnect the cellular telephone module connector.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to RUN.
  4. Using a J 39200 digital multimeter (DMM), measure the voltage between the following components:
  5. •  The cellular telephone module connector terminal 8.
    • Ground.

Is the measured voltage in the specified range?

10-15V

Repair the open in CKT 2240 (ORN)

Is the repair complete?

Using a DMM, measure the voltage between the following cellular telephone module connector terminals:

    • Terminal 8.
    • Terminal 7.

Is the measured voltage in the specified range?

10-15V

Repair the open in CKT 1351 (BLK/WHT).

Is the repair complete?

Inspect the state of the battery.

Is the battery charged enough in order to power the cellular telephone?

Replace the portable cellular telephone. Refer to Cellular Telephone Replacement .

  1. Disconnect the cellular telephone handset connector from the vehicle connector.
  2. Using a DMM, measure the voltage from harness connector terminal E to ground.

Is the measured voltage in the specified range?

10-15V

Check for an open in CKT 43 (YEL).

Is the circuit open?

Repair the open in CKT 43 (YEL).

Replace the cellular telephone module. Refer to Radio Frequency Booster and Bracket Assembly Replacement .

Using a DMM, measure the voltage between the following cellular module connector terminals

  1. Terminal E.
  2. Terminal K.

Is the measured voltage in the specified range?

10-15V

Check the cellular telephone handset jumper wiring for continuity.

Is the wiring OK?

  1. Inspect the following connectors for poor terminal contact:
  2. • The cellular telephone handset connector.
    • The cellular telephone handset jumper connector.
  3. If OK, replace the cellular telephone handset. Refer to Cellular Telephone Replacement .

  1. Make sure any components removed during diagnosis are installed in place and that all connectors are connected.
  2. Repeat the system check. Refer to Cellular Telephone System Check .
