Circuit Description

The PCM monitors the A/C refrigerant pressure.

The PCM sends a message to the SBM containing the A/C refrigerant pressure.

When you turn the A/C ON, the SBM determines if the A/C clutch should be on or off based on the pressure data from the PCM.

The SBM sends a message over the class 2 serial data line to the PCM that the A/C clutch may be turned on.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

The SBM determines that the A/C refrigerant pressure is too high based on the message from the PCM over the class 2 serial data line.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

    • DTC B1324 stores in the SBM memory.
    • No driver warning message displays for this DTC.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

    • The SBM determines that the A/C pressure is within range.
    • A history DTC will clear after 50 consecutive ignition cycles if the condition for the malfunction is no longer present.

Diagnostic Aids

This DTC will set if a condition exists in the A/C system that might cause a high pressure condition. An intermittent short to ground in CKT 1732 may cause an intermittent malfunction to occur.
