During periods of high electrical current drain, the SBM may intermittently block selected components from receiving power, including the heated seats. The body control module (SBM) pulls CKT 182, terminal A5 to ground in order to control the seat heater control module. The seat heater control module disables the heated seats. The SBM monitors CKT 181, heated seat status, terminal B8 in order to know whether the heated seats are ON or OFF. The SBM monitors CKT 182 for shorts to ground.
The SBM detects a short to ground in CKT 182.
