  1. Turn the ignition switch to RUN.
  2. Place the HUD dim switch to maximum intensity.
    • The following components illuminate for approximately 4 seconds:
      • The check gauges indicator
      • The fuel indicator
      • All segments of the digital speedometer
    • After the 4 second segment test, the HUD speedometer displays 0.

HUD System Inoperative

Move the HUD dim switch from maximum to minimum intensity.

The HUD image intensity dims.

HUD Dim Switch does not Vary the HUD Image Intensity

  1. Move the HUD dim switch to maximum intensity.
  2. Use the HUD up/down switch in order to move the HUD image up and down.

The HUD image moves up and down on the windshield.

HUD Dim Switch does not Move Up or Down

  1. Start the engine.
  2. Drive the vehicle.

The HUD speedometer displays approximately the same speed as the instrument cluster.

HUD Speedometer Inoperative

Press the ENG/MET switch.

The HUD speedometer and units (MPH or km/h) indicator change between English and metric.

  1. Turn on the hazard flashers switch.
  2. Turn on the headlights.
  3. Place the headlamp dimmer switch in HIGH.
    • The left turn signal and right turn signal indicators flash.
    • The high beam indicator is on.
    • The HUD dims with the headlights on.
    • The HUD high beam indicator is on.

HUD LH Turn Signal, Right Turn Signal and the High Beam Indicators are Inoperative

  1. Use the IP dimming switch in order to vary the intensity of the instrument cluster display.
  2. Turn off the headlights.
  3. Move the HUD dim switch to the minimum intensity (OFF).

The interior dimming switch varies the HUD image intensity with the headlights on.

    • The IP Dimming Switch does not vary the HUD image intensity with the headlights on. Refer to Lighting System Check.
    • HUD System Always On
