  1. Connect a scan tool.
  2. Select DATA from the driver door module (DDM) data list.
  3. Operate the door window switch to the UP and the DOWN positions.

Does the scan tool indicate that the switch operates properly?

  1. Disconnect the inoperative power window switch.
  2. Using a digital multimeter (DMM), measure the resistance between the window switch terminal 2 and terminal 4 while pressing the switch to the UP position.
  3. Using a DMM, measure the resistance between the window switch terminal 1 and terminal 4 while pressing the switch to the DOWN position.

Is the resistance within the specified range for both measurements?

0-5 ohms

Replace the power window switch. Refer to one of the following procedures:

  1. Disconnect the door module connector C1 at the malfunctioning door.
  2. Using a DMM, measure the resistance between the window switch harness connector terminal 4 and the door module harness connector C1 terminal:
  3. • RH front door terminal 10
    • RH rear door terminal B3
    • LH rear door terminal B9

Does the resistance measure within the specified range?

0-5 ohms

Is the malfunction with the LH rear power window?

  1. Disconnect the rear fuse block connector C1.
  2. Using a DMM, measure the resistance between the window switch harness connector terminal 4 and the rear fuse block connector C1, terminal A1.

Does the resistance measure within the specified range?

0-5 ohms

Repair the open in CKT 1195 (PPL), Between the LH rear power window switch and the rear fuse block.

  1. Disconnect the rear fuse block connector C2
  2. Using a DMM, measure the resistance between the rear fuse block connector C2, terminal A12 and the rear door module (RDM) connector C1, terminal B9.

Does the resistance measure within the specified range?

0-5 ohms

Repair the open in CKT 1195 (PPL), between the rear fuse block and the RDM.

Using a DMM, measure the resistance between the window switch harness connector terminal 2 and the appropriate door module harness connector C1 terminal:

    • RH front door terminal 8
    • RH rear door terminal B5
    • LH rear door terminal B7

Does the resistance measure within the specified range?

  1. Disconnect the rear fuse block connector C1.
  2. Using a DMM, measure the resistance between the window switch harness connector terminal 2 and the rear fuse block connector  C1, terminal A8.

Does the resistance measure within the specified range?

0-5 ohms

Repair the open in CKT 1185 (WHT), between the LH rear power window switch and the rear fuse block.

  1. Disconnect the rear fuse block connector C2.
  2. Using a DMM, measure the resistance between the rear fuse block connector C2, terminal A5 and the RDM connector C1, terminal B7.

Does the resistance measure within the specified range?

0-5 ohms

    • RH front door terminal 9
    • RH rear door terminal B4
    • LH rear door terminal B8

  1. Disconnect the rear fuse block connector C1.
  2. Using a DMM, measure the resistance between the window switch harness connector terminal 1 and the rear fuse block connector C1 terminal B12.

Repair the open in CKT 1187 (YEL), between the LH rear power window switch and the rear fuse block.

  2. Using a DMM, measure the resistance between the rear fuse block connector C2, terminal B1 and the RDM connector C1, terminal B8.

Repair the open in CKT 1187 (YEL) between the rear fuse block and the RDM.

  1. Disconnect the power window motor at the malfunctioning door.
  2. Using a DMM, measure the voltage between the window motor terminals A and B while pressing the malfunctioning door window switch in the up and down directions.

Does the voltage measure within the specified range?

10-15 V

  1. Disconnect the door module connector C2.
  2. Using a DMM, measure the resistance between the window motor harness connector terminal A and the door module harness connector C2 terminal:
  3. • RH front door terminal B
    • LH rear door terminal D
    • RH rear door terminal A

Does the resistance measure within the specified range?

0-5 ohms

  1. Disconnect the rear fuse block connector C2.
  2. Using a DMM, measure the resistance from the RDM connector C2 terminal D to the rear fuse block connector C2 terminal D10.

Repair the open in CKT 669 (BRN). Between the RDM and the rear fuse block.

  2. Using a DMM, measure the resistance from the rear fuse block connector C1 terminal D3 to the LH rear power window motor harness connector terminal A.

Does the resistance measure within the specified range?

Repair the open in CKT 669 (BRN), Between the rear fuse block and the LH rear power window motor.

Repair the open in CKT 668 (DK BLU) between the RDM and the rear fuse block.

  2. Using a DMM, measure the resistance from the rear fuse block connector C1 to the LH rear power window motor harness connector terminal B.
