Circuit Description

Battery positive voltage (B+) is applied at the memory seat module (MSM) via CKT 2040 (ORN). The MSM tests the battery positive voltage (B+) in order to determine if the voltage is within a valid operating range.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

DTC MSM B1982 sets when the battery positive voltage (B+) is above 15.5 volts.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

The MSM will try to write the status of the DTC to EEPROM. No other status will write to EEPROM while the DTC is current.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

DTC MSM B1982 will clear when the battery positive voltage (B+) is less than 15 volts.

Diagnostic Aids

    • DTC MSM B1982 will disable the setting of most other MSM DTCs.
    • DTC MSM B1982 may set when the battery is fast charging for a long period of time.

Test Description

The number(s) below refer to the step number(s) on the diagnostic table.
