Test the appropriate seat cushion heating element wiring from the heated seat control module connector C2 terminal A for a short to battery positive voltage (B+). Refer to Testing for Continuity in Wiring Systems.

Is there a short to battery positive voltage (B+) in the seat cushion heating element wiring?

Test the appropriate seat back heating element wiring from the heated seat control module connector C3 terminal B for a short to battery positive voltage (B+). Refer to Testing for Continuity in Wiring Systems.

Is there a short to battery positive voltage (B+) from terminal B?

  1. Disconnect the appropriate heated seat module connector C1.
  2. Connect a DMM from the appropriate heated seat module connector C1 cavity to ground:
  3. • LH: cavity C (PNK)
    • RH: cavity C (PNK/BLK)

Is the resistance less than the specified value?

5 ohms

Go to Step 10

Replace the suspect heated seat module. Refer to Heater Module Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Repair the short to ground in the appropriate circuit:

    • LH: CKT 1501 (PNK)
    • RH: CKT 1503 (PNK/BLK)

Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the suspect seat back heating element. Refer to Front Seat Heater Element Replacement .

Replace the suspect seat cushion heating element. Refer to Front Seat Heater Element Replacement .

Replace the suspect heated seat switch.
