Did you perform the Power Seat Memory System Check?

  1. Operate the LH seat switch in the inoperative position.
  2. Use the test lamp in order to backprobe the seat switch connector from cavity L (BLK) to one of the following LH seat connector cavities:
  3. • Rear vertical down: cavity C (LT BLU)
    • Rear vertical up: cavity F (YEL)
    • Front vertical down: cavity A (DK BLU)
    • Rear vertical up: cavity D (DK GRN)
    • Entire seat back: cavity B (LT GRN)
    • Entire seat forward: cavity E (TAN)
    • Recline back: cavity G (LT BLU)
    • Recline forward: cavity H (LT GRN)
    • Headrest down: cavity M (DK BLU/WHT)
    • Headrest up: cavity K (WHT/BLK)

Does the test lamp light?

Test for an open in one of the following circuits:

    • Rear vertical down: CKT 1521 (LT BLU)
    • Rear vertical up: CKT 1519 (YEL)
    • Front vertical down: CKT 1520 (DK BLU)
    • Rear vertical up: CKT 1518 (DK GRN)
    • Entire seat back: CKT 1523 (LT GRN)
    • Entire seat forward: CKT 1522 (TAN)
    • Recline back: CKT 277 (LT BLU)
    • Recline forward: CKT 276 (LT GRN)
    • Headrest down: CKT 1069 (DK BLU/WHT)
    • Headrest up: CKT 1068 (WHT/BLK)

Refer to Testing for Continuity in Wiring Systems.

Is there an open in the circuit?

Replace the LH seat switch. Refer to Power Seat Switch Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

  1. Disconnect the faulty seat motor connector.
  2. Connect a fused jumper from battery positive voltage (B+) to one seat motor cavity.
  3. Connect a fused jumper from the other seat motor cavity to ground.

Does the motor run?

Repair the open or the short to ground in one of the following circuits:

    • Rear vertical down: CKT 283 (LT BLU)
    • Rear vertical up: CKT 282 (YEL)
    • Front vertical down: CKT 287 (DK BLU)
    • Rear vertical up: CKT 286 (DK GRN)
    • Entire seat back: CKT 284 (LT GRN)
    • Entire seat forward: CKT 285 (TAN)
    • Recline back: CKT 277 (LT BLU)
    • Recline forward: CKT 276 (LT GRN)
    • Headrest down: CKT 1258 (GRY)
    • Headrest up: CKT 1257 (WHT)
