DEFINITION: This table diagnoses the lumbar support (option AL2) in the left and the right seat. The diagnosis does not include the left seat if the left seat is equipped with the memory function (option A43). For diagnosis of the lumbar support in the left seat equipped with A43, refer to the Lumbar Support Diagnostic System Check.

  1. Use a test lamp in order to backprobe the lumbar switch connector from the appropriate cavity to ground:
    2. • LH: cavity B (PNK)
    • RH: cavity C (WHT)
  2. Move the lumbar switch to the IN position.

Does the test lamp light?

  1. Use a test lamp in order to backprobe the lumbar switch connector from the appropriate cavity to ground:
    2. • LH: cavity C (DK BLU)
    • RH: cavity B (DK BLU)
  2. Move the lumbar switch to the OUT position.

Does the test lamp light?

Replace the suspect lumbar switch.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Use a test lamp in order to backprobe the lumbar horizontal motor connector from the appropriate cavity to ground:
    2. • LH: cavity B (PNK)
    • RH: cavity B (WHT)
  2. Move the appropriate lumbar switch to the IN position.

  1. Use a test lamp in order to backprobe the appropriate lumbar horizontal motor connector from cavity A (DK BLU) to ground.
  2. Move the appropriate lumbar switch to the OUT position.

Does the test lamp light?

Replace the suspect lumbar horizontal motor.

Is the repair complete?

Repair the open in the appropriate circuit:

    • LH: CKT 610 (PNK)
    • RH: CKT 210 (WHT)

Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the open in the appropriate circuit:

    • LH: CKT 611 (DK BLU)
    • RH: CKT 211 (LT BLU)
