The battery voltage is supplied to the SBM at connector C1 terminal C9.
The SBM determines if the voltage is within a valid operating range.
The DTC B1983 sets when the battery voltage falls below 9.0 volts.

DTC B1983 clears when the battery voltage is greater than 9.5 volts.
DTC B1983 disables the setting of most other SBM DTCs.
