Did you perform the Lighting System Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. Observe the Perimeter Lamp Output parameter in the remote function actuator data list.

Does the Perimeter Lamp Output parameter indicate OFF?

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the Perim LP Relay.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

Did the backup lamps turn OFF?

  1. Turn the ignition OFF.
  2. Connect a test lamp between the Perim LP relay coil side feed circuit and the Perim LP relay control circuit.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Test for a short to ground in the Perim LP relay control circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the RFA module. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the remote function actuator (RFA) module. Refer to RFA Module Replacement in Keyless Entry.

Repair the short to power in the backup lamp power circuit. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the backup lamp relay. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?
