1. Install a scan tool.
2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
3. Turn ON and OFF the courtesy lamp switch.
4. With a scan tool, observe the Courtesy Switch parameter in the body control module (BCM) data list.

Does the Courtesy Switch parameter turn ON and OFF with the interior lamp switch?

1. Turn OFF the ignition.
2. Connect a test lamp between battery positive voltage (B+) and courtesy lamp switch input circuit at the headlamp switch.
3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
4. Turn ON and OFF the courtesy lamp switch.

Does the test lamp turn ON and OFF with the courtesy lamp switch?

Test the courtesy lamp switch input circuit for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the headlamp switch connector. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the headlamp switch. Refer to Headlamp Switch Replacement .

Inspect for poor connections at the BCM connector. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Replace the BCM. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control System.
