For 1990-2009 cars only
- Remove the fuel injector site shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement in Engine Mechanical-3.8L.
- Disengage the adjustment lock (1) on the cruise control cable. The lock is located on the TBI end of the cable.
- Hold the TBI at the closed position.
- Remove the slack in the cable by pulling the cable conduit and engaging the adjustment lock.
- Install the fuel injector site shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement in Engine Mechanical-3.8L.
When the lock is disengaged, the cable will move freely in and out of the adjuster.
