1. Press the cruise control ON/OFF switch to ON.
2. Accelerate to the desired speed.
3. Push in the SET button and release the button.
4. Remove your foot from the accelerator pedal.

Once cruise control has been set at a desired speed with the SET button, the set speed is stored in the controllers memory. If the driver for any reason must apply the brake, cruise control will disengage. The cruise control may be reset in this manner. Accelerate close to the desired speed (40 km/h (25 mph)) or more. Press the cruise control R/A (Resume/Accelerate) switch for about half a second. The vehicle will now accelerate to and resume the previously set speed. If either the ignition switch, Cancel switch or the cruise ON/OFF switch is turned off, you will erase the cruise control memory.

There are two ways to reduce your speed while using cruise control:

1. Push in and hold the set button until you reach the lower speed you want. Then release the button.
2. In order to slow down incrementally, push the set button for less than half a second. Each time you do this, the vehicle will slow down 1.6 km/h (1 mph).

There are two ways to increase speed while using cruise control:

1. Accelerate to the higher speed. Push the SET button, then release the button and the accelerator pedal. The cruise control will now maintain that higher set speed.
2. Once a set speed has been chosen, the driver can press the R/A and hold it there until the new speed setting is reached, then release the switch. In order to increase your speed incrementally, press the R/A switch for less than half a second and release it. Each time you do this, your vehicle will go 1.6 km/h (1 mph) faster.

The accelerate feature will only work after you turn on the cruise control and push the SET button.

Use the accelerator pedal in order to increase your speed. Once a safe distance past the other vehicle, take your foot off the accelerator pedal. The vehicle will then return to the preset cruise control speed.

How well the cruise control will work on hills depends upon your speed, load, and the incline of the hills. When going up steep hills, you may have to step on the accelerator pedal in order to maintain your speed. When going downhill, you may have to brake or shift to a lower gear in order to keep your speed down. Applying the brake will however, take you out of cruise control. Many drivers find this to be too much trouble and chose not to use cruise control on steep hills.

When you turn off the ignition, press the cancel switch, or the cruise control ON/OFF switch is turned off, your cruise control set speed memory is erased.

There are three ways to turn off the cruise control:

The cruise release (ABS/TCC) switch is a normally closed switch mounted on the brake pedal bracket. For adjustment of the cruise release switch (ABS/TCC switch), refer to Cruise Release Switch Adjustment.
