Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 449386 Size: SH
  1. Remove the door. Refer to Door Removal - Front .
  2. Remove the hinge fasteners (1) from the pillar.
  3. Remove the hinge fasteners from the door.
  4. Remove the hinge half from the door.

Installation Procedure
  1. Align the hinge half (2) to the body.

    2. Object Number: 449386 Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  2. Install the hinge to body fasteners (1).

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

  3. Install the hinge to the door fasteners (1).

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the hinge to door fasteners (1) to 34 N·m (24 lb ft).

  4. Install the door. Refer to Door Removal - Front .

    5. Notice: Striker alignment is a crucial part of door latch operation. Do not use the door striker to adjust the door to the vehicle. Failure to properly adjust the striker can result in damage to the door latch and the striker.

  5. Adjust the door for proper alignment. Refer to Door Adjustment .
  6. Touch up any damage to the hinge and fasteners with body color paint.
