Removal Procedure
  1. Open the hood.
  2. Release the cable from the latch assembly.
  3. Remove the wheelhouse assembly. Refer to Wheelhouse Panel Replacement .

    4. Object Number: 255985 Size: SH

    Important: In order to ensure proper routing and in order to ease the installation of the release cable, tie string around the cable before removing the cable from the vehicle.

  4. Remove the cable (3) from the clips (4).
  5. Route the cable (3) along the body rail toward the rear of the vehicle.
  6. Remove the 2 screws retaining the hood latch release handle (1).
  7. Remove the cable (3) through the passenger compartment opening.
  8. Remove the cable from the release handle (1).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 255985 Size: SH
  1. Install the cable (3) to the release handle (1).
  2. Install the cable (3) into the engine compartment.
  3. Install the hood latch release handle (1).
  4. Install the screws in order to retain the release handle (1).
  5. Route the cable along the body rail to the front of the vehicle.
  6. Install the cable (3) into the clips (4).
  7. Install the wheelhouse assembly. Refer to Wheelhouse Panel Replacement .
  8. Install the release cable to the hood latch assembly.
  9. Close the hood.
