Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the HVAC module assembly. Refer to HVAC Module Assembly Replacement .
  2. Remove the mode actuator.
  3. Remove the recirculation actuator.
  4. Remove the right temperature actuator.
  5. Remove the left temperature actuator.
  6. Remove the fasteners that retain the mode actuator bracket.
  7. Remove the mode actuator bracket.
  8. Remove the upper module case screws.

  10. Peel back the foam seal at the heater inlet.

  11. Object Number: 688088  Size: SH
  12. Remove the upper HVAC module case half.

  13. Object Number: 688106  Size: SH
  14. Remove the left temperature door.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 688106  Size: SH
  1. Install the left temperature door.

  2. Object Number: 688088  Size: SH
  3. Install the upper HVAC module case half.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the HVAC module case screws.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 1.4 N·m (12 lb in).

  7. Reapply the foam at the heater inlet.
  8. Install the mode actuator and bracket.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 1.4 N·m (12 lb in).

  10. Install the left temperature actuator.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 1.4 N·m (12 lb in).

  12. Install the right temperature actuator.
  13. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 1.4 N·m (12 lb in).

  14. Install the recirculation actuator.
  15. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 1.4 N·m (12 lb in).

  16. Install the HVAC module assembly. Refer to HVAC Module Assembly Replacement .
