J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 777927  Size: SH
  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  2. Disconnect the fittings at each end of the A/C filter.
  3. Remove the A/C filter from the line.
  4. Remove the O-rings.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 777927  Size: SH
  1. Lubricate the new O-rings using 525 viscosity mineral base oil.
  2. Install the O-rings to the new filter.
  3. Install the new A/C filter.
  4. Ensure that the arrow points toward the evaporator.

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Tighten the fittings, making sure that the A/C line is bottomed out into the filter on both ends.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

  7. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  8. Leak test the fittings using the J 39400-A .
