Test Description

The numbers below refer to the step numbers on the diagnostic table.

Important: Make sure that the passenger window lockout option is selected as ON in the vehicle owner customizing menu.

If the window lockout selection is OFF, set it to ON and verify that the fault is still present.

  1. This step determines if the DDM receives the lockout switch input from the DDSA.

  2. This step determines if the indicator is operating properly.

This test assumes that all DTCs have been diagnosed.

Did you perform the Door Systems Diagnostic System Check?

Verify that the Power Windows Inoperative-Lockout Function complaint is present.

Does the Power Windows Lockout System operate as described in the Power Windows Description and Operation?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. With the scan tool, observe the Driver Door Lockout Sw. parameter in the Driver Door Module data display, Inputs data.
  4. Operate the power window lockout switch to both the LOCK and UNLOCK positions.

Does the parameter change to LOCK and UNLOCK on the scan tool?

Go to Step 4

Observe, both the lockout indicator on the lockout switch button, and the Driver Door Lockout Sw. parameter on the scan tool, while operating the lockout switch.

Does the indicator illuminate when the scan tool parameter displays LOCK, and then go out when the scan tool parameter displays UNLOCK?

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the driver door module (DDM). Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the driver door switch assembly (DDSA). Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the DDM. Refer to Door Control Module Replacement - Front .

Did you complete the replacement?

Replace the driver door switch assembly (DDSA). Refer to Front Door Switch Replacement .

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.

Did you correct the condition?
