J 24319-B Universal Steering Linkage Puller

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the front tires and wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  3. Remove the stabilizer shaft links. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement .
  4. Remove the stabilizer shaft insulators. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Insulator Replacement .

  5. Object Number: 643351  Size: SH
  6. Remove the left outer tie rod end retaining nut.
  7. Using J 24319-B disconnect the outer tie rod end from the steering knuckle.
  8. Remove the exhaust manifold pipe. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Pipe Replacement in Engine Exhaust.

  9. Object Number: 144023  Size: SH
  10. Turn the left strut completely to the left. Guide the stabilizer shaft out the left side of the vehicle between the body and the strut.
  11. Remove the stabilizer shaft (3) out from under the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 144023  Size: SH
  1. Install the stabilizer shaft (3) to the vehicle.
  2. Install the exhaust manifold pipe. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Pipe Replacement in Engine Exhaust.

  3. Object Number: 175689  Size: SH
  4. Loosely install the following components:
  5. 3.1. The left and right stabilizer shaft insulators
    3.2. The stabilizer shaft insulator brackets
    3.3. The stabilizer shaft bracket bolts
  6. Install the stabilizer shaft links. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement .

  7. Object Number: 470669  Size: SH
  8. Install the left tie rod end (1) to the steering knuckle.
  9. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  10. Install the left outer tie rod retaining nut.
  11. Tighten

        • Tighten the stabilizer shaft insulator bracket bolts to 47 N·m (35 lb ft).
        • Tighten the outer tie rod end to steering knuckle to 30 N·m (22 lb ft plus 180 degrees).
  12. Install the front wheels and tires. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  13. Lower the vehicle.
