Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the instrument panel assembly. Refer to Instrument Panel Assembly Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.

  2. Object Number: 292138  Size: SH
  3. Remove the left air temperature actuator retaining screws (1).
  4. Remove the left air temperature actuator.

  5. Object Number: 292128  Size: SH
  6. Remove the mode actuator retaining screws (1).
  7. Remove the mode actuator assembly.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 292128  Size: SH
  1. Align the mode door levers with the cam slots.
  2. Install the mode actuator assembly.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the mode actuator retaining screws (1).
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 1.4 N·m (12 lb in).

  6. Install the left air temperature actuator.

  7. Object Number: 292138  Size: SH
  8. Install the left air temperature actuator screws (1).
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 1.4 N·m (12 lb in).

  10. Install the instrument panel assembly. Refer to Instrument Panel Assembly Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  11. Recalibrate the actuators. Refer to Actuator Recalibration .
