Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 292142  Size: SH
  1. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  2. Remove the right sound insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  3. Remove the body control module (BCM) and the HVAC programmer from the brackets and lay aside.
  4. Remove the I/P relay and fuse junction block lower electrical connectors.
  5. Remove the bolts and nut, then turn the relay block and disconnect the upper electrical connectors.
  6. Remove the I/P fuse and relay junction block.
  7. Disconnect the electrical connector from the recirculation actuator.
  8. Remove the recirculation actuator retaining screws (1).

  10. Remove the recirculation actuator.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the recirculation actuator.

  2. Object Number: 292142  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the recirculation actuator retaining screws (1).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 1.4 N·m (12 lb in).

  5. Connect the electrical connector to the recirculation actuator.
  6. Connect the I/P fuse and relay block upper electrical connectors.
  7. Position the relay block and install the bolts and nut.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 8 N·m (80 lb in).

  9. Connect the lower relay block electrical connectors.
  10. Install the BCM and the HVAC programmer into the appropriate brackets.
  11. Install the right sound insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  12. Install the I/P compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  13. Recalibrate the actuators. Refer to Actuator Recalibration .
