Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

Go to Step 2

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle in Vehicle DTC Information

1. Close all of the doors.
2. Turn OFF the courtesy lamp switch.
3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
4. Turn ON and OFF the reading lamps.

Do the reading lamps operate properly?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

Does the courtesy lamp function of the inoperative reading lamp operate properly?

Go to Step 4

Go to Courtesy Lamps Inoperative

Test the ground circuit of the inoperative reading lamp for a high resistance or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 5

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the inoperative reading lamp switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 6

Replace the inoperative reading lamp.

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 7

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
