  1. Insert a CD magazine, with at least 1 audio CD, into the remote playback device (CD player).
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. Turn ON the radio.
  4. Attempt to play the CD in the CD player.

Does the CD player operate?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

  1. Disconnect the CD player.
  2. Test the battery positive voltage circuit of the CD player for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the ground circuit of the CD player for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the entertainment and comfort serial data circuit for a short, high resistance or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the CD player. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the CD player. Refer to Remote Compact Disc Player Replacement .
