2	Verify that the rear hatch/gate ajar indicator is malfunctioning. Does the rear hatch/gate ajar indicator operate normally?	Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections	Go to Step 3
3	Is the rear hatch/gate ajar indicator always ON?	Go to Step 4	Go to Step 6
4	Install a scan tool. Close the liftglass and liftgate. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF. With a scan tool, observe the liftgate ajar switch and liftglass ajar switch parameters in the Liftgate Module data list. Does the scan tool display Ajar?	Go to Step 5	Go to Step 11
5	Disconnect the appropriate liftgate ajar or liftglass ajar switch. Does the scan tool display Ajar?	Go to Step 8	Go to Step 12
6	Install a scan tool. Open the liftglass and liftgate. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF. With a scan tool, observe the liftgate ajar switch and liftglass ajar switch parameters in the Liftgate Module data list. Does the scan tool display Ajar?	Go to Step 11	Go to Step 7
7	Turn OFF the ignition. Disconnect the appropriate liftgate ajar or liftglass ajar switch. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF. Connect a fused jumper between the appropriate ajar switch signal circuit and the appropriate ajar switch low reference circuit of the ajar switch harness connector. Does the scan tool display Ajar?	Go to Step 12	Go to Step 9
8	Test the liftgate ajar switch signal circuit or the liftglass ajar switch signal circuit for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs . Did you find and correct the condition?	Go to Step 17	Go to Step 13
9	Test the liftgate ajar switch signal circuit or the liftglass ajar switch signal circuit for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs . Did you find and correct the condition?	Go to Step 17	Go to Step 10
